Background
Sexual harassment and/or unwanted behavior is no longer a new concept in the Netherlands. It also occurs within sports. We quickly think of young athletes who have fallen victim to adult coaches. But it also takes place between athletes themselves, or between coaches. 

If victims want to report a case of sexual harassment, it is a problem if they cannot find a trusted contact person within the club or association. It is a subject that is not easy to discuss. The lack of a listening ear, of someone who can give advice, makes it even more difficult. As a result, victims refrain from reporting their complaints. This allows highly undesirable and painful situations for victims to continue. This should not be the case and is also unnecessary. It is precisely for this reason that a number of clubs and associations have already appointed a Confidential Contact Person (CCP) for sexual harassment. These individuals have been trained by NOC*NSF.

The confidential advisor
The role of Confidential Advisor was created to provide a first point of contact within an association or federation. The CA is aware of the options available for obtaining help. In addition, they advise and encourage their association or federation to take preventive measures. CA's have a dual role: to provide guidance when questions arise and to contribute ideas about prevention. They act as the first point of contact for members with a complaint.
