Badminton also has a competition in which teams compete against each other. Since the 2018-2019 season, all mixed teams play in the national league (September until February) and there is a regional league (Spring competition) for men's, women's and mixed teams (from February through May). Divisions 4 and higher are the so-called national divisions, and divisions 5 through 9 are the regional divisions. This does not necessarily mean that the regional divisions are limited to the South West region, to which BC Drop Shot belongs; it is also possible that teams on the borders of the region play in a competition with "border" teams from neighboring regions. This is to limit travel distances. There is also a youth competition (September until February).

The higher the division level you play in, the greater the chance of long(er) travel times.

From the 2019 - 2020 season on, Drop Shot is playing at the highest level in the Netherlands—the Premier League ('Eredivisie')—for the first time in 25 years. Unfortunately, there is a gap after that, but from the Second Division on, BC Drop Shot is represented in every division with one or more teams.

Important information about playing in competitions
Drop Shot participates in the competitions of the Dutch badminton association, Badminton Nederland. The association has a number of regulations and other arrangements that can be found on their website.
