BC Drop Shot continues to build

BC Drop Shot continues to build and presents its new addition: Iris van Leijsen. A new asset with plenty of room for growth.

The only 18-year-old Iris van Leijsen recently managed to secure a spot in the women’s doubles final at the Dutch Championships. A wonderful achievement.

Van Leijsen: "I’m looking forward to playing for BC Drop Shot next season. I always experience a great sporting atmosphere there. They really make something special of the premier league, and I would love to contribute to that."

BC Drop Shot is happy with Iris’s arrival. Coach Dicky Palyama: "She’s really starting to grow in the doubles, and that’s exactly what we need. She also fits into our philosophy for the coming season to build a team that is a mix of young, relatively inexperienced players and more experienced players."

Chairman Robert Hoogland adds: "The currently younger players can develop into key players in the medium term. This way, BC Drop Shot is developing into a stable premier league club. With these key players, it becomes easier for all club members to connect with team 1, allowing us to grow further as a club. Connecting and uniting are important goals in our policy."

BC Drop Shot, founded in 1947, offers badminton fun at all levels, from recreational players to the premier league. In recent years, the youth in particular have grown and developed tremendously. BC Drop Shot is known for its many events, with the most famous being the successful tournaments. On May 27 and 28, 2023, the Grand Prix | Master Finals Tournament will once again be organized at the Mariahoeve sports center.
