Grand Prix Tournament | Master Finals is filling up quickly

29-04-2023

Over 10 years ago, the first edition of the Grand Prix Tournament was created as a celebration of the 65th anniversary of BC Drop Shot. Thanks to the enthusiasm of many badminton players, this tournament has now become a fixture and has been expanded with the Master Finals. How does it work again and why you should sign up today.

Now that we are celebrating our 75th anniversary, we will also be celebrating our 10th edition. The Grand Prix tournament was expanded a few years ago with a Master Finals. Since then, it has been known as Grand Prix | Master Finals. How does it work again?

Master Finals
The Master Finals is the final tournament of all master tournaments. Everyone registers for the Grand Prix tournament, but only the top 8 ranked players/pairs from the Master circuit of the six preceding Master tournaments can participate in the Master Finals. You can only qualify if you have participated in 3 or more master tournaments. The tournament organization will place players in the correct tournament based on the ranking.

The losers of the quarterfinals in the Master Finals will enter the quarterfinals of the GP class of the Grand Prix tournament. This way, everyone is guaranteed a few good matches and maybe some great prizes.

The winner of the Master Finals (per singles player/per doubles pair) will receive a cash prize of €400.00.

Grand Prix
The Grand Prix tournament is open to all players in category 1 ("GP class") and categories 3, 5, and 7. So whether you belong to the top of the Netherlands or have just started with this wonderful sport, you are warmly invited to register.

Prize Pool
The Grand Prix tournament has a significantly larger prize pool than all other tournaments. So the Grand Prix tournament might bring you more than just a few great matches.

MEEAT
Besides working up a sweat and enjoying top matches from Dutch top players, the relaxed atmosphere is also important. There is plenty of room for socializing, a snack, and a drink on the terrace of our beautiful sports center. You can even opt for an attractive tournament meal. We call this MEEAT (a combination of meet and eat).

Will you be there?
We hope you will join us again. Of course as a player, but if you are not playing, you are also very welcome as a spectator. Oh, and don’t forget to register—it would be a shame if we’re already full…
