Thamar Peters new treasurer BC Drop Shot

During the exceptionally pleasant General Members' Meeting on April 8, 2024, the treasurer was discharged and bid farewell, and the candidate treasurer was installed by acclamation. 

During the exceptionally pleasant General Members' Meeting on April 8, 2024, the now former treasurer Roos Beerkens was bid farewell after being discharged. Roos initially intended to serve for 4 years, but ultimately dedicated 5 years to the board of BC Drop Shot. Roos was given a heartfelt send-off with much gratitude and applause.

The candidate treasurer, Thamar Peters, was proudly and confidently installed in her new role by acclamation.

The board is extremely pleased with Thamar. Of course, this is due to her involvement with the club and the sport, but certainly also because of her background (see background section). Roos, together with Lisette Ligtvoet (general financial board member), will ensure a smooth handover so that Thamar can get off to a great start. It was a valuable moment, ensuring continuity and financial stability.

Brief background on Thamar
Thamar is currently a policy advisor at VWS and holds a Master’s degree in Fiscal Law/Tax Law. Thamar was a great talent in our beautiful sport, part of the national selection, but unfortunately, due to a serious injury, her development and promising top sports career came to an abrupt halt.

A few years ago, she picked up her racket again and played in our second team. Now Thamar is once again plagued by an injury, but her recovery is going well. Of course, we hope to see her back on the court soon. That is the most fun of all!
