Background 
Sexual harassment and/or unwanted behavior is no longer a new concept in the Netherlands. It also occurs in sports. We often think of young athletes who have become victims of adult supervisors. However, it also takes place between athletes themselves, or between supervisors. 

If victims want to report a case of sexual harassment, it becomes a problem if they cannot find a trusted contact person within the club or federation. It is a topic that is not easy to discuss. The lack of a listening ear, someone who can give advice, makes it even more difficult. As a result, victims refrain from reporting their complaint. This allows highly undesirable and painful situations for victims to persist. This should not happen and is not necessary. For this reason, a number of clubs and federations have already appointed a Confidential Contact Person (VCP) for sexual harassment. These individuals are trained by NOC*NSF.

The confidential contact person
The role of Confidential Contact Person (VCP) was created to provide a first point of contact within a club or federation. The VCP is aware of the available options for getting help. In addition, they advise and encourage their club or federation to take preventive measures. VCPs have a dual task: to guide when there are questions and to think along about prevention. They serve as the first point of support for members with a complaint.
